You may have spent so long keeping the peace, caring for others, or questioning yourself that you no longer know what you need. I help individuals who…

  • Feel like they are in survival mode and no longer enjoy the things they used to.

  • Feel disconnected from their sense of self or identity.

  • Often feel reactive, shut down, anxious, or numb.

  • Find it challenging to emotionally regulate.

  • Struggle to set boundaries and put others’ needs first, many times at one’s own expense.

  • Struggle with low self-esteem and self-worth.

  • Find it challenging to build trusting relationships.

  • You automatically focus on what everyone else needs

  • You feel guilty resting, asking for help, or saying no

  • You replay conversations and worry that you did something wrong

  • You question whether your feelings are valid

  • Carry unresolved childhood trauma that still impacts their life today.

  • Find it hard to trust themself or their decisions.

  • Have left an abusive relationship and continue struggling with the lingering impacts of it.

  • You have difficulty knowing what you want outside of your roles and relationships

  • You repeatedly feel drawn into relationships where your needs become secondary

  • You feel overwhelmed, resentful, or emotionally exhausted—and then guilty for feeling that way

  • You understand your patterns intellectually but still feel stuck in them

  • You want to do things differently but do not know where to begin

People-pleasing, staying quiet, anticipating other people’s reactions, and putting yourself last may have helped you maintain connection, avoid conflict, care for others, or cope with experiences that did not feel emotionally safe.

Therapy is not about blaming you for these patterns or forcing you to change before you feel ready. It is an opportunity to understand what shaped them, notice when they are no longer serving you, and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.

At Flor Counselling, I work alongside you to understand how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, and respond. Together, we can build practical coping skills, strengthen your sense of self, and help you move toward a life that feels safer, more authentic, and aligned with your values.

WELCOME

Smiling counsellor seated in a warm therapy space with plants and candles, creating a calm and welcoming environment.

Hi, I’m Genesis Flores, MC, CCC.

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor providing trauma-informed virtual counselling in English and Spanish in Alberta. I support adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves or affected by painful relationships and life experiences.

Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, high-conflict relationships, or experiences that still affect how they think, feel, and respond. You may find yourself overthinking, second-guessing yourself, struggling with boundaries, or feeling emotionally disconnected.

Therapy can help you better understand these patterns, reconnect with your voice, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and aligned with your values.

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, strength-based, and centred around you. I understand that healing is deeply personal, and you deserve a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. It would be an honour to walk alongside you as we move at a pace that feels safe, manageable, and aligned with your needs.
