Hi, I’m Genesis!
Hello!I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with over six years of experience supporting individuals, youth, and families across community mental health, crisis support, domestic violence, and rural service settings. My work has included walking alongside people navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and the process of rebuilding after painful experiences.
My clinical approach is trauma-informed, humanistic, and client-centered. I draw from evidence-based and relational approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and attachment-based therapy. I aim to support clients in developing greater self-understanding, emotional awareness, coping skills, and connection to what matters most to them.
I know, both personally and professionally, that healing is not always linear. It can take a lot of courage to look inward, ask for support, and begin doing things differently. My own healing journey has shaped the way I show up in this work: with compassion, humility, honesty, and deep respect for each person’s story.
My hope is to offer a space where you feel supported in understanding yourself more deeply, reconnecting with your voice, and moving toward a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and aligned with who you are.
My Approach
I take a humanistic and client-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that every person carries unique experiences, strengths, and struggles. Through my own healing journey, I’ve come to believe that meaningful change can happen when people feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Therapy is not about “fixing” who you are, but about creating space for healing, self-understanding, and moving toward the life you want to live.
Collaborative & Trauma-informed
In therapy, I honour your worldview, needs, and lived experience. I believe you are the expert of your life, and my role is to support you with care, curiosity, and respect. Together, we create a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment, while moving at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Compassionate & Authentic
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe enough to show up as your authentic self, without judgment, pressure, or the expectation to have everything figured out. My approach is rooted in compassion, authenticity, and genuine human connection. I believe in meeting people where they’re at, understanding that healing looks different for everyone, and I strive to move at a pace that feels supportive and comfortable.
